Spring Tips for your Days Out

Spring into the lovely Scottish Highlands with some insider tips for you to enjoy whilst you are in Inverness. The great thing about the Palace is it's been round for years so here are the local tips but there are many more so check out Explore to enjoy your break away.

Around Inverness - Botanic Gardens are a great visit near Bught Park. A visit to Leakeys amazing bookshop or the refurbished Victorian Market and local Food court. Inverness Museum, Art Gallery and Town House Tours captures the spirit of the Highlands.
On Loch Ness & Nessie- Jacobite Cruises have introduced the Beast Rib for high speed adventure on Loch Ness or opt for gentler Cruise both great options to be together see Jacobite.
Simple Walks - from the Palace to Ness Islands and round back past the Castle or a walk along the Caledonian Canal tow path ever so peaceful to either Dochgarroch (new the new Loch Ness by Jacobite Visitors Centre) or head to Clachnaharry - here is a good link for distance and times.
Further Walks - the new Loch Ness 360 offers a trail all the way round loch ness. Dores - Aldourie - park at the Dores Inn for your favourite drink and fab view and then head out for your walk takes about 1-2hrs. Glen Affric offers up some beautiful short and longer walks and if you head to Muir if Ord go to Bad Girl Bakery - award winning cakes! A must visit website for Highland Inverness Walks.
Beach Walks - Rosemarkie –>Chanonry Point. You can park at either end and then just walk the length of the beach, it’s about 4 miles and would take around 2 hours. It’s sandy but there’s also a path that goes through a caravan site for people who can’t walk on sand. There is a little cafe, a pub and a good bistro in Rosemarkie so treat yourself either half way or at the end! More walks near Rosemarkie link here.
To the Beach - well there are many to discover but our favourite is East beach at Nairn backed sandy dunes - perfect for a long walk or for watching dolphins go to Findhorn - see Beaches!
Coffee and Lunch Stops - Bad Girl Bakery in Muir of Ord, Connage Highland Dairy for cheese and more or Camerons Tea Room near Foyers (Loch Ness the opposite side from Drumnadrochit) - lots more see Coffee & Cakes
