What are your check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is from 3 pm and check-out is by 11 am. We can’t guarantee early check-in, but we’ll always try our best to accommodate you.

Can I arrive early and leave my luggage?

Yes. If you reach Inverness before your room is ready, leave your bags with reception and relax in the lounge or brasserie until check-in. Secure luggage storage is also available.

Is late check-out available?

Yes, subject to availability — £10 for noon or £20 for 1 pm. Just ask reception.

Can a porter help with my bags?

Yes — our porters are happy to help you with your luggage.

Is there an airport shuttle?

We don’t run a shuttle, but reception can book you a taxi for any time you like, including early-morning flights. Taxis wait outside the airport arrivals terminal and the journey is short.

How do I make a booking?

Book online at invernesspalacehotel.co.uk, call 01463 223243, or email [email protected]. Booking direct earns you 10% off, and we’ll confirm by email.

What details do you need to book?

Your full name, address, phone number, email, and a valid credit or debit card to secure the room. Your confirmation is sent to the email address you provide.

How do I change or cancel a booking?

Email [email protected] or call 01463 223243 with your name, arrival date and reservation number, and we’ll take care of it. We can also resend a lost confirmation.

What is your cancellation policy?

Flexible rates can be cancelled free of charge until 4 pm the day before arrival. Advance Purchase and promotional rates are non-refundable and non-transferable.

What room rates do you offer?

Choose a Flexible rate (pay on arrival, free cancellation until 4 pm the day before) or a cheaper Advance Purchase rate (prepaid, non-refundable). Our seasonal packages often offer the best value.

When do I pay?

Flexible bookings are settled at the hotel on arrival or departure. Advance Purchase and package rates are paid at the time of booking.

How do you take payment securely?

We take card details securely over the phone. Please don’t send full card or CVC numbers by email or chat.

Can I use Best Western or WorldHotels points?

Yes — book through the Best Western website to redeem your rewards points. Members may also receive a discount on room rates.

Is it cheaper to book direct?

Yes. Booking direct on our website saves you 10%, and seasonal promo codes can save you more.

Why has my quoted price changed?

Room rates — and, for overseas guests, currency exchange rates — can change daily, so a quote may differ between visits.

I can’t complete a booking on the website. What should I do?

What room types do you offer?

Cosy Doubles, Classic Doubles and Twins, Luxury River & Castle View rooms, Family Rooms and Single rooms — each individually styled. See them all on our bedrooms page.

What’s included in every room?

A comfortable bed, tea and coffee, free Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV, desk, iron and board, hair dryer and a phone charging point — plus complimentary access to the leisure club. All rooms are non-smoking.

What bed sizes do you have?

King beds are 5 ft wide × 6 ft 6 in long; Super King beds are 6 ft × 6 ft 6 in. Classic Doubles have Super King beds.

Can I have a king bed instead of twin beds?

Yes, at no extra charge — just let us know when you book.

Can I request a river or castle view?

Yes. Guarantee one for a £100 per room, per night supplement, or request one free of charge, subject to availability on the day.

What do Classic Double rooms look out onto?

They face away from the river, with views across the city of Inverness.

Do rooms have baths or walk-in showers?

Most rooms have a bath or a shower over the bath; three rooms have standalone walk-in showers for easier access. Tell us your preference when booking.

Do the rooms have air conditioning?

Rooms aren’t air-conditioned, but we provide fans on request.

Is there a fridge in the room?

Not as standard, but a fridge can be added to your room on a first-come basis, and there’s one at reception you’re welcome to use.

Do you have connecting or family rooms?

Yes — Twin-to-Double or Twin-to-Twin interconnecting rooms, ideal for families. Please pre-book on 01463 223243.

Are cots available?

Yes, cots and cribs are available on request — please pre-book.

Can you keep our rooms together?

Yes, subject to availability — just ask when booking.

Do you have accessible rooms?

Yes — one fully accessible room with a wider door frame and adapted bathroom, plus standard rooms served by lifts, with stools and raised toilet seats available. Please tell us your needs when booking. Note that the No. 10 townhouse and Garden Cottage have no lift.

How many rooms does the hotel have?

110 rooms in total.

Dining & Room Service

Is breakfast included?

Rates with breakfast include a full hot and cold Scottish buffet. Not staying overnight? Full breakfast is £14.95 and continental £12.95 per person.

When is breakfast served?

6:30–9:30 am Monday to Friday, and 7–10 am Saturday and Sunday, in the main dining room.

What food is available during the day?

Our Brasserie serves from 12 noon to 8:45 pm daily, with 24-hour light bites available any time. Scan the QR code in your room for the full menu.

How do I order room service?

Scan the QR code in your room to order online, dial 064, or message your order through chat. Delivery is usually 20–30 minutes.

What are the room service hours?

6:45 am to 8:45 pm, with a 24-hour light-bites menu and drinks available after that.

How do I order room service breakfast?

Collect or request a breakfast card, complete it the evening before, and leave it out. A £5 tray charge applies.

How do I book a table for dinner?

Reserve at Eight on the River or the Brasserie for groups of up to 10. Let us know any dietary needs in advance or when you sit down.

Do you cater for dietary requirements?

Yes, for both dinner and afternoon tea — just let us know.

Is there a children’s menu?

Yes, a kids’ menu is part of the Brasserie menu.

Where can I get take-away coffee?

The Brasserie serves Starbucks to take away from 7 am to 10 pm daily.

Afternoon Tea

How do I book afternoon tea?

Can I mix classic and Intoxicating Tea Party teas?

Yes — your group can mix and match the classic Afternoon Tea and the Intoxicating Tea Party.

Can I swap one of the sandwiches?

Yes, you can change one of the sandwich choices.

Is there a vegan afternoon tea?

Yes, a vegan option is always available — please pre-book.

Is there a children’s afternoon tea?

We don’t offer a separate child’s tea, but a regular afternoon tea is easily shared.

How many people can you seat for an event?

Up to 100 guests.

Leisure Club, Pool & Spa

Is the leisure club included in my stay?

Yes — the swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room, sauna and gym are free for all hotel guests, 7 am–9 pm daily. Lockers take a £1 coin.

Do I need to book the leisure club in advance?

No pre-booking needed — just come along within opening hours.

Are towels provided?

Yes, towels are provided for hotel guests at the leisure club.

Can day visitors or non-guests use the pool?

The leisure club and pool are for hotel guests and members only — we don’t offer day passes.

What is the minimum age for the gym and pool?

Gym and leisure club use is for guests aged 15 and over. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult, and under-16s must be accompanied in the pool.

How do I join the leisure club or gym?

See membership details and the sign-up form on our Leisure Club & Spa page, or reply with your email and we’ll be in touch.

Do gym members get a discount on rooms?

No, gym membership doesn’t include a room-rate discount.

What spa treatments are available?

Our spa partner, Pretty Woman Spa, runs all spa days and treatments — book on 01463 549149 or via our spa pages. Open Mon–Fri 9 am–9 pm, Sat & Sun 9 am–5 pm.

Do you offer spa breaks with an overnight stay?

Yes — the Pamper Package and the Spa Tranquillity Package both include an overnight stay, breakfast, prosecco on arrival, a spa treatment and full leisure club access. See our spa breaks page.

Parking & EV Charging

Is there parking at the hotel?

Yes — a free 22-space car park, subject to availability. If it’s full, reception can arrange a permit for a nearby car park with a refundable £20 deposit.

Is there free parking nearby?

On-street parking is free from 5 pm to 10 am on some streets; daytime charges run up to around £6 per 24 hours.

Do you have electric vehicle charging?

Yes — six charging points (currently £0.58/kWh) via the Project EV app. Pre-book to guarantee a space.

Can I park a motorhome or RV?

Our car park is too small for large motorhomes. We recommend the nearby Torvean Car Park, which accommodates motorhomes and RVs.

Pets

Are dogs allowed?

Yes — £15 per dog, per night, maximum two dogs per room. Guide and hearing dogs stay free of charge. See our pet policy.

Where can my dog go in the hotel?

Dogs are welcome in bedrooms and the lounge — where you’re also welcome to eat — but not in the restaurant or leisure club.

Can I leave my dog alone in the room?

No — to avoid distress or noise, dogs shouldn’t be left alone in rooms. We’ll happily set a table in the lounge so you can dine together.

How do I add a dog to my booking?

Add a note when booking, or let us know in advance. The £15 per night charge is settled on arrival.

Families & Children

Are children welcome to stay?

Yes, children of all ages are welcome.

Are there family rooms and cots?

Yes — spacious family and interconnecting rooms, with cots available on request. Please pre-book.

What are the child pricing rules?

Under-12s stay free when sharing a family room with two paying adults (river-view rooms excluded). In their own room, children are charged 50% of the adult rate (minimum £69.90), and meals for ages 5–12 are charged separately.

Can children use the leisure club?

Yes, with adult supervision. Under-12s must be accompanied, and under-16s must be accompanied in the pool.

Can children attend the New Year party?

Yes, children are welcome at the New Year party.

What’s the best way to and from the airport?

Taxi or car is easiest. Reception can book a taxi for your preferred time, including early-morning flights, and taxis wait outside airport arrivals.

Can you recommend a chauffeur or car service?

Yes — Highland Chauffeur Drive, Ness Luxury Chauffeur, or local firms such as Inverness Taxis, City Taxis and Inverness Premier Taxis.

Can you help book a Loch Ness or Urquhart Castle tour?

Do you offer gift vouchers?

What celebration packages do you offer?

A Birthday package (cake, three balloons and a card, £41), an Anniversary package (hand-tied bouquet, two mini prosecco and a card, £73), and a Romantic package (rose petals, prosecco and chocolates) — plus build-your-own options with fizz, flowers, cakes and chocolates.

What seasonal offers do you have?

Is there a laundry service?

Yes — an external service Monday to Friday. Collect a bag and list at reception, drop off by 8:30 am, and it’s returned the same afternoon (usually 24 hours; priced per item). A launderette nearby is open 7 days a week.

Can you hold parcels or store luggage?

Yes — we can hold parcels under your name and store luggage for you.

Who do I speak to about a problem during my stay?

Please tell reception or the duty manager straight away so we can put it right. Complaints can also be sent in writing to the General Manager.
