Baxters’ Loch Ness Marathon & Festival of Running– 23rd September 2018
The Baxters Loch Ness Marathon is quite possibly one of the most stunning marathons in the world. With spectacular scenery, fantastic atmosphere and a truly memorable experience – it’s no wonder it was voted in the top 10 UK marathons by Runner’s World readers in 2016 and is on the bucket list for many runners from around the world. There is so much more to this special event, it has become a festival of running. There are running events for all abilities including 10km Race,5km and the Wee Nessie for marathon runners of the future.
Archaeology Fest– 29/09/18 – 19/10/18
Celebrating Highland Archaeology, History & Heritage the Highland Archaeology Festival is 25 years old this year!!!! The festival is provided by the Highland Council and runs over two weeks each October to celebrate the heritage of the Highlands from earliest settlers to modern times, below ground and above. Whether you’re a seasoned archaeologist or a complete beginner, the festival will let you explore an amazing range of places and collections. There’s something to suit everyone and many of the events are free!
Ness Book Fest– 4/10/18 – 7/10/18
Ness Book Fest 2018 will take place in Inverness in the Central Library, Town Hall, local schools, and Waterstones Inverness – with more venues yet be announced. Most events will be ticketed but free of charge to attend. Each event will last an hour or so, with ongoing children’s activities and some parallel sessions. Loch Ness Knit Fest– 19 to 21 October 18
The Inverness Ice Centre will be transformed for the 3rdyear into a yarn hub with a Loch Ness Knit Fest Hub, Marketplace with 60 plus sellers & Crafting Village. The festival will showcase wool, yarn, patterns, needles, books, buttons and much more. There will be local musicians performing live, fashion shows and lots of inspiration! So whether you are a supper knitter, interested in a new hobby or simply intrigued by the number of crafts make sure that join in the fun! Halloween Ness Islands– 27 & 28th October 2018
Ghosts and ghouls will once again descend on Ness Islands as part of Inverness’ annual Halloween celebrations! Don your scariest costumes to ward off evil spirits (or just for the fun of it!) One of the most spook-tacular shows you will find in Scotland with thousands of locals dressing up to discover what is lying in wait on Ness Islands. This year’s theme will be announced shortly and we guarantee you are going to be taken on a journey that you will never forget. Admission is free. Military Wives Choir in Concert– 9 & 10th November 2018
A ‘Centenary of Song’ commemorating the centenary of WW1 through music with guest performances from Inverness Royal Academy Pipe Bands, Louise MacBain and Sgt Brian Taylor at the Cathedral Church of St. Andrew. Make sure that you buy your ticket soon as they will sell out. All funds will go to charity.
MonsterFest, IronworksInverness 10th & 11th November 2018
This is a 2 day indoor rock music festival, featuring some big names in metal and tock music circuit. Headline acts include Dan Reed Network and The Dead Daisies! The alternative to a saturated summer convert schedule, with a great indoor venue!
Proclaimers Inverness Leisure 23rd November 2018
The Proclaimers are coming back to Inverness this Autumn, the identical duo of Charlie and Criad Reid will be set to get the capital of the higlands singing this November.
