1. Archaeology Fest– 28th September 19 to 18th October 19
Celebrating Highland archaeology, history and heritage, the Highland Archaeology Festival is 26 years old this year! The festival is provided by the Highland Council and runs over two weeks each October to celebrate the heritage of the Highlands from earliest settlers to modern times, below ground and above. Whether you’re a seasoned archaeologist or a complete beginner, the festival will let you explore an amazing range of places and collections. There’s something to suit everyone with over 100 events and many of these are free!
2. Inverness Comicon – 12th October 19
Inverness and Loch Ness Comic Con (NessCon) is the premier geek event in the Highland Capital, Inverness.
NessCon was created to fill the void for Highland Comic lovers and Sci-Fi fanatics, who normally must travel 3+ hours to attend events further down south in the Central Belt and further afield. Our goal is to bring together fans of all ages and types, whether you appreciate comics with the story and the art that goes with it, or your more involved in TV series and films.
3. Loch Ness Knit Fest – 17th to 20th October 19
Loch Ness Knit Fest is now in its 4th year and has become a must-visit event for yarn enthusiasts from all over the world. Record numbers flocked to Loch Ness Knit Fest in 2018 from over 22 countries. This year there is an enhanced four-day programme with over 20 workshops, more than 50 vendors in the marketplace, demonstrations, main stage entertainment, sightseeing tours and evening events including a Highland feast, concert and knit along with Danish designer Christel Seyfarth.
3. Halloween Ness Islands – 27 & 28th October 2019
Ghosts and ghouls will once again descend on Ness Islands as part of Inverness’ annual Halloween celebrations! Don your scariest costumes to ward off evil spirits (or just for the fun of it!) One of the most spook-tacular shows you will find in Scotland with thousands of locals dressing up to discover what is lying in wait on Ness Islands. This year’s theme will be announced shortly and we guarantee you are going to be taken on a journey that you will never forget. Admission is free. 5. Wet Wet Wet Inverness – The Ironworks 10th November 2019
Wet Wet Wet are Graeme Clark, Tommy Cunningham, Neil Mitchell and Kevin Simm. The band are one of the most successful groups in British pop history with an amazing back catalogue of songs including three No.1s – Help From My Friends, Goodnight Girl and Love Is All Around. They have sold over 15 million records to date and played to more than four million people around the world. They are playing live at the Ironworks in Inverness on 10th November 2019.
6. MonsterFest, Ironworks, Inverness 15th & 16th November 2019
This is a 2-day indoor rock music festival, featuring some big names in metal and rock music circuit. Red Elk Music are delighted to announce the return of ‘MONSTERFEST’ along with their first announced headliner, Glasgow rockers GUN.
After last years event which was very well received by the attending audience and featured the likes of The Dead Daisies, Dan Reed Network, Tygers of Pan Tang, The Amorettes and many others, the festival asked for feedback from the audience and it was a resounding ‘yes’ for a return.
The format has slightly changed, so this time around it kicks off on a Friday night and carries on all day Saturday. Other events around the festival on the week leading up and on the Sunday are currently in planning and will be announced in 2019. Doors open Friday 15th November 6:30pm doors / Saturday 16th November 2pm doors. If you are a rock fan you won’t want to miss this fantastic autumn event.
7. Priscilla Queen of the Desert 18th to 23rd November 2019
Wow – a fantastic autumn event is coming to Inverness this year! The iconic musical PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT is coming to Eden Court very soon! Starring Strictly Come Dancing winner Joe McFadden, PRISCILLA is the hilarious adventure of three friends who hop aboard a battered old bus bound for the Outback to put on the show of a lifetime. Their epic journey is a heart-warming story of self-discovery, sassiness and acceptance.
